2021 Call for applications: TWAS Fellowships for PhD studies and Postdoctoral research

The 2021 Fellowships call for applications  at  TWAS, the World Academy of Sciences , is now open for PhD and PDoc programmes that are offered in the natural and related applied sciences to students and researchers from developing countries to gain postgraduate education and research experience at top global scientific institutions in the South. The application eligibility requirements and deadlines vary according to the different fellowships.     WHAT IS PLAGIARISM? Plagiarism is a misconduct in the world of academics and   scientific writing. It can be defined as taking someone else’s idea or work in any form and using it as your own without acknowledging the original source. That is taking credit for someone’s idea or work and it is a serious violation of academic integrity. Simply put Plagiarism is intellectual theft. The basic principle of scientific or academic writing   is that whatever you write or publish  must be your own   idea put in your own words .   As a woman in academics, this question is always on my mind,   what do I do differently in other to encourage younger ones who wants to join academics?. Among other things that I have set out to do,   I had an inspiration one day to set up an academic blog just to inspire others especially women. But typical of human mind, the doubt started popping up in my brain; Can you do it?, Can you even write?. You can’t write good English, your colleagues will laugh at you if you fail and many others. All these questions were popping up in my brain but I remembered my personal motto  If I can think it, I can do it and I swung into action. I set up  this  blog  just to motivate and inspire women who wants to tow the path of academics. This is one of my little wins and I want to  encourage others trying to start a project.
