Nature Communications Early Career Researcher peer mentoring program - now accepting applications

Nature Communications  is now inviting early career researchers (ECRs) to apply for its ECR peer review programme. Launched last year, this programme is designed to be an opportunity for early career researchers to get formal training in peer review, guided by professional editors. Participants will learn what makes peer review constructive, get guidance on how to write a reviewer’s report, valuable for authors and editors, and have an opportunity to get involved in peer review. Participants will first attend an introductory webinar, held by editors of Nature Communications, explaining the value of the review process and how it’s done. Participants will then continue working one-on-one with a professional editor who handles manuscripts within the ECR’s area of expertise. Call for Applications: Harvard Center for African Studies postdoctoral fellowships

  Applications are now being accepted from scholars at selected African universities for the   Harvard Center for African Studies postdoctoral fellowships . The fellowship programme is aimed at providing opportunities for postdoctoral candidates to conduct independent research, publish, and increase knowledge in their fields of study that will be beneficial to the African continent and to prepare them to be successful in their chosen career paths. The program offers 18-month postdoctoral fellowships with 12 months spent at the scholars’ home institution and six months spent in stipend-supported residency at Harvard University. Eligibility The program is established for African based researchers who intend to continue/return to work in African academia.
