Call for Applications: UNOSSC and ICGEB EMPOWER fellowships for women scientists from developing countries

  International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), together with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) Youth4South initiative, are  offering new fellowship programme for women scientists from developing countries: the  EMPOWER Fellowships: a South-South and Triangular Cooperation programme . The fellowship is offered to early-career female scientists from the Global South, aged 45 or under, for exchange visits of 6 months at the ICGEB laboratories in New Delhi (India) and Cape Town (South Africa), or at other institutions based in an ICGEB Member State, to perform research work on  biotechnology and related fields , including Health (Infectious Diseases and Non-Communicable Diseases), Sustainable and Effective Agriculture, Industrial Biotechnology and Renewable Energy. Pre-Call Announcement: African-German Scientific Exchange in the Field of Public Health

  The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) of the Federal Republic of Germany, in close collaboration with the Fundo Nacional de Investigação (FNI) of the Republic of Mozambique and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of the Republic of Zambia, would like to invite researchers from sub-Saharan Africa to engage in a scientific exchange in the field of public health. This initiative covers all research questions that are primarily concerned with population health. Subject areas include public health issues relating to infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases; One Health; availability, quality and utilisation of data for health monitoring and surveillance; mental health; prevention strategies; population movement/migration; health policies. Research Development Fellowships 2021/22

  Research Development Fellowships   is set up  to support African researchers who are working on important challenges for human health in Africa. Deadline: 23 September.   Aim:  To support researchers in Africa who are emerging leaders and are working on important challenges for human health to develop their skills as a researcher. What we offer:  A three to nine-month placement at a leading research institution in Europe or Africa, with additional support at your home institution before and after the placement, up to a maximum of £40,000. Who is eligible:  Research active post-doctoral scientists and clinicians who are nationals of and employed in Sub-Saharan Africa who were awarded their doctorate within the last six years; and clinicians without a doctorate but who have a Masters degree or a specialist clinical qualification and between three and seven years active research experience (see detailed eligibility criteria).
